Hey aspiring entrepreneurs,
So I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences as I begin a new company. I know a lot of people have always wanted to start a company and never have been able to do it, and I hope this helps as many people as possible. FYI my grammar and typos are awful so try to ignore them ;)
So whats the first step to becoming an entrepreneur its simple GET UP AND DO IT! Sometimes starting a business takes courage and a want, a want to peruse a passion/ a dream/ a better life. If you want to be a entrepreneur you have to get the ball rolling its taking what i like to call "little step to success". There are many obstacles and adventures that you will have to over come. Sometimes you might know the answers sometimes you many not, but you have to be willing to be apart of that journey and let life pave the path. So what do I mean by get the ball rolling? You have to get up out of your chair, your couch and do something your future company needs for example in the case of my company I went out and bought a domain name. I know have a domain and the necessary tools to get the ball rolling on getting a web-designer to work with me on my company. That's a little step, but i didn't just go out there and shell money without knowing what's already out on the market or having basic planning.
I know any of your are thinking shouldn't I plan out my business and do some research and start a business plan? Yes and No, Yes you do but no not with a business plan. In an age and time where the internet has made doing almost anything possible you don't have time to rough out pages and pages of an idea and concept on paper. By the time your done with typing and rethinking pages and pages of what i call to call what if numbers and what might happen, by that time someones all ready put your idea in motion. Almost majority of the business plans I've gone though most have information that isn't relevant at this time. Business plans do have LOT of useful information that you should think about not let let every negative throw you off track on fulling your dream of owning your company. Trust me, i have typed pages of business plans and all that's left me doing is second questioning my concept and if it will work or not. The best predictor of if your company will succeed is by going out and starting it. You never know of what hidden element your clientele will find charming about your business.
So what should one plan for then? THE BASICS!
1. Does your idea currently exist in the market?
2. What sets your company apart?
3. What will you need to get the ball rolling? Ex. website, type of product, material, supplies, LOCATION etc..
4. THE MOST IMPORTANT CAPITAL!! How much money will you need?
5. Who is your desired market.
6. How is the best way to get to them? How will they know you exist?
7. What current free services can you take advantage off to help cut costs? Something you want might be out there for free for you to use to help your business.
8. The future, how do you see your business expanding?
9. Will some company want to you out? (why ask this question simple, if someone wants to your company or the idea then you have an company to work with)
10. Put these 9 question on paper and answer them, and let your closet family and friends give you feedback.
Soon I will be going into other topics and what not but until then start with these "little steps to success".
